Testimonials

I attended my first ballroom dance class in 2004 and haven’t stopped since. I discovered a class on the UT campus where I was a student and thought it would be a fun activity to try. During that first class, I knew I was hooked. Stewart Yaros was my teacher, and he was so funny, talented, and welcoming. He made me feel like a star after my first step. I then became super motivated and competed competitively for two years. Dance International is always very well represented at competitions because of the high standards held in the studio. All of the competitors from Dance International are well prepared and competent in their skill.

I am also a middle school teacher, and have now had some of my students attend Stewart’s youth classes, and they love it too! All of the Dance International staff is so professional and are great with students of all ages. Dance is a great way to stay in shape and exercise while having fun. By the end of class, I know I got a great workout, but it didn’t seem like work at all! I always look forward to attending dance class and enjoy meeting so many people who share the joy of dance. - Sara Manning

I think it would be great to have dance provided at all schools. Dance is such a great way to get some exercise, meet new friends and just have some fun! Before I became a dancer, I hated sports. I had no interest in pursuing any athletic activity. I even was putting on a little weight. Then I found dance. It is an exhilarating way to get a work out while having fun. Dancing didn’t just help with my physical being, but it helped me emotionally as well. After I started dancing I became an outgoing, self-confident person. Being pushed to meet new people and learn new techniques was difficult at first, but eventually resulted in an amazing experience.

I learned a lot from dancing with Stewart at Dance International. I learned many new stretching techniques. Every day Stewart brought in a different teacher to learn a different type of warm-up. We learned Nia, Pilates, Tai Chi, and Yoga all in one week! I also learned how to dance with a partner. This was a completely different experience than what I was exposed to. Working with a partner was even more difficult than dancing alone because you have to learn to move together as one. Working with a partner helped me become a better dancer. Most importantly, though, I made many new friends.

Providing dance at all schools would give students the same opportunity I had. Please help Dance International accomplish this goal. - youth summer camp student

“I’ve been studying with Stewart for over 10 years, in both group classes and private lessons. I keep coming back because there’s always more I can learn from him. He is consistently encouraging, but once you’re ready for it, he also gets picky, and (if you pay attention and practice) you can feel your dancing improve by the day. Stewart’s combination of enthusiasm and ballroom knowledge makes him a great teacher for dancers of any level.” - Ginger Pizer

“Great teaching! Lots of fun! Stewart Yaros knows his stuff! I have learned so much in such a short time! I have found a new passion! There are many different locations so check the website for more information.” -Avalon D.

“I brought my husband, son, and sister. We had a blast! Quality family time.” - Lacy Semmett
