What level is right for me?

Beginner 1: 0 - 1 years

  • Basics and Social Patterns

Beginner 2: 0 - 2 years

  • Basics / Beginning Bronze*

Intermediate: 6 months - 3 years

  • Full Bronze*
  • Variations of steps, Styling, Techniques, Connections, etc. will be developed.
  • (Knowing the basics and fundamental techniques of the specific style of dance)

Advanced: 2-4+ years

  • Silver - Gold*
  • High-level patterns and sequences will be studied and techniques stressed.
  • Classes move at a fast pace.

Performance Teams (DS - DanceSport) Auditions Required for Placement

Beginner & Intermediate - DS4: 1-3 years

  • Bronze and Silver, leading to performance

Avanced - DS5: 4+ years

  • Gold and Open, leading to performance

International-Style Ballroom Dance syllabus covers 4 levels of materials/figures. From the lower to the highest level are Beginning Bronze, Full Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Always consult with your DI instructor about what is the right level for you.

Private lessons do affect the speed at which you progress through the levels. Always ask your teacher what level they suggest for you.
